Taiwan Beauty Snake is a long semi-arboreal snake from Asia, they can grow to quite an impressive length of 10ft. Which is huge for a member of the rat snake family.
A habitat generalist, the Taiwan beauty snake occurs in wooded areas, on agricultural lands, and along watercourses. These snakes are agile climbers but is often encountered in terrestrial habitats. It may seek shelter in piles of debris, vegetation or construction rubble.
. Wild collected individuals are often very defensive and may injure their snouts by striking against the glass of their terrarium. They will bite. Wild-caught beauty snakes are also often heavily parasitized, dehydrated, emaciated, and difficult to acclimate. Dehydrated snakes will have difficulty shedding their skin. Many will not feed readily.
Most males average around six feet, however, females attain lengths of eight to nine feet. The habitats that they frequent are as vast as the number of subspecies, and they will occupy forests, rivers, caves, and various human developments such as agricultural land and outreaches of inner cities. Human developments appear to be prime breeding grounds for rodents and this, in turn, attracts the snakes to the areas. Most are diurnal, stalking prey, and will constrict their catch by immobilizing it with several coils.

The species is native to the eastern and southeastern regions of Asia. It is a long, thin, semi-arboreal species of snake with several recognized subspecies.[citation needed] This constrictor feeds on rodents, and though it is favored in some locations as a natural pest control or pet, it is also considered an invasive species in other locations.[2][3]
