What is the difference between air dried and freeze-dried? 

Both considered alternatives to raw, air drying and freeze drying are preservation methods that eliminate the moisture for microbial growth without the use of high temperatures. Both methods result in shelf-stable, highly palatable food and both methods preserve vital nutrients, offering nutrition similar to a raw diet.

Air drying : Moisture is removed via the process of evaporation. Ingredients are placed into drying chambers, where air is continually circulated, slowly and gently evaporating moisture until a maximum level of 14% is reached. With higher moisture than freeze-dried, air dried diets offer scoop & feed convenience.

Freeze drying : Moisture is removed via the process of sublimation. Raw ingredients are frozen, then placed in a strong vacuum, turning the ice directly into vapour. Because almost all moisture is removed, freeze-dried foods often require rehydration before serving.

Nutrience Air Dried benefits dogs of all breeds and life stages. Every dog is unique. Your dog may require more or less food depending on breed, life stage, activity level, and environment. Simply start with our recommendations, adjust as needed, and make sure to always have fresh water available.

Growth & Reproduction :

Puppy size: up to 50% of predicted adult body weight: Feed 2 X the adult amount for current weight.

Puppy size: 50-80% of predicted adult body weight: Feed 1.75 X the adult amount for current weight.

Puppy size: 80-100% of predicted adult body weight: Feed 1.25 X the adult amount for current weight.

For Gestation provide 1.25 to 1.5 X the adult amount, and for Lactation provide 1.5 to 4.5 X the adult H20 amount (depending on litter size and week of lactation).

Transitioning to Nutrience :

It is important to gradually transition your dog from one food to another. Start with a proportion of 25% Nutrience to 75% old food. Slowly change the proportions over the next 5 to 7 days by gradually increasing the amount of Nutrience and decreasing the amount of the old food.
