How to Install
Adheres to most smooth, clean, non-textured surfaces. Wipe the surface down with white vinegar or rubbing alcohol and allow to air dry thoroughly. Water method: Rinse the suction cups under warm, almost hot, water. Shake off excess water, then press onto the desired surface. Oil-based method: Apply a very thin layer of cooking oil or petroleum jelly to the suction cups. Mounting Instructions: Press each of them firmly in place, making sure there are no air bubbles between the cups and the mounting surface. Ensure each suction cup is placed over the tile and not the gap between the tiles, as this will prevent them from maintaining suction. Allow the suction cups to set for several hours before adding any weight.
Shower Tips
Caution must be taken to always provide a draft-free environment. Parrots will shower more readily if the water temperature is warm with no temperature fluctuations – avoiding radical heat and cold exposures! Once the bird is thoroughly wet, companion owners should vocalize to it, repeating sounds such as: “BRRRR!” and encouraging their bird to “ruffle those feathers!” Ensure the suction cups are not chewed on. Birds should not be left unattended. Provide a warm heating source such as an Avian Light for after shower basking.
Window Tips
The window should be closed and locked. Remove window coverings from the viewing area to prevent tangles. Caution must be taken to always provide a draft-free environment and to monitor companion birds for signs of overheating or cold, such as panting or flung. Adding a preening, foraging or an exercise toy to the toy ring will promote mental and physical stimulation. For added fun, a bird feeder placed outside of the window can attract friends to help entertain and engage pet birds.
