The Zoo Med ReptiSun T8 UVB Reptile Lamp provides essential UVB and UVA wavelengths to help support healthy reptiles kept indoors. Available in 5.0 UVB and 10.0 UVB strengths, you can select the appropriate lamp based on your reptile species, habitat and required level of UVB exposure.

UVB light allows reptiles to naturally synthesize Vitamin D3, which is essential for proper calcium metabolism and helps support healthy bones and shell development. UVA also contributes to natural behaviours such as feeding and activity.

Choose Your UVB Strength

ReptiSun 5.0 UVB – Tropical

The 5.0 UVB provides moderate UVB output and is an excellent choice for many tropical and forest-dwelling reptiles that naturally receive filtered or lower levels of UVB.

Suitable for many tropical reptiles, including appropriate geckos, anoles, chameleons and other species requiring moderate UVB exposure.

ReptiSun 10.0 UVB – Desert & High UVB

The 10.0 UVB provides stronger UVB output for reptiles requiring higher levels of UVB exposure.

It is particularly well suited for many desert and high-UVB species, as well as larger or taller habitats where greater UVB penetration is required.

Selecting the Correct Lamp

UVB requirements vary considerably between reptile species. The amount of usable UVB reaching your animal can also be affected by the distance from the lamp, screen tops, enclosure design and placement of basking areas.

Always research the specific UVB requirements of your reptile and provide appropriate distances and opportunities for the animal to move between higher and lower UV exposure within the enclosure.

Lamp Replacement

UVB output gradually decreases with use even though the lamp may continue producing visible light. Replace the lamp according to Zoo Med's recommended replacement schedule to maintain appropriate UVB output.
