The Fluval Pond PowerHeat 320W Heated Pond De-Icer helps maintain an open vent hole at the pond surface during freezing winter conditions, allowing important gas exchange between the pond water and outside air.
Designed for liner and plastic ponds, the PowerHeat keeps a portion of the pond surface open rather than heating the entire pond. This allows gases produced by fish respiration and decomposing organic material to escape while allowing oxygen exchange at the water's surface.
