Live Mealworms – Canadian-Farmed Feeder Insects

Live Mealworms – Canadian-Farmed Feeder Insects

Live Mealworms (Tenebrio molitor) are a popular and versatile feeder insect for reptiles, amphibians, birds, arachnids and other insect-eating animals.

Regular mealworms typically measure approximately 0.5–0.75" in length, making them smaller than Giant Mealworms and Superworms and a convenient choice for many smaller animals.

Mealworms provide a good source of protein and fat and can be gut-loaded and supplemented with appropriate vitamins and minerals as part of a balanced feeding program.

Great For

• Bearded Dragons
• Leopard Geckos
• Crested Geckos
• Other insect-eating lizards
• Frogs and amphibians
• Turtles
• Tarantulas and other arachnids
• Insect-eating birds
• Small mammals
• Other appropriately sized insectivores

Canadian-Farmed Live Feeders

Our mealworms are Canadian-farmed and maintained under appropriate conditions to provide healthy, active feeders for your animals.

For additional nutritional value, mealworms can be gut-loaded before feeding and dusted with an appropriate calcium or vitamin/mineral supplement based on your animal's dietary requirements.

Storage & Care

For longer storage, keep mealworms refrigerated to slow their development into beetles.

Provide a small amount of fresh moisture-rich food, such as carrot or potato, as needed. Remove old or spoiled food promptly to keep the colony clean.

Feeding

Mealworms are relatively high in fat and are best offered as part of a varied diet rather than as the sole food source. Feeding requirements will vary depending on the species, age and nutritional needs of your animal.
