4-Stage Filtration

Pre-Filter Mechanical Filtration
The intake pre-filter sponge helps capture larger debris before it enters the filter.

Bio-Foam Mechanical Filtration
High-porosity foam captures additional suspended debris while also providing surface area for beneficial bacteria.

Activated Carbon Chemical Filtration
Activated carbon helps remove dissolved impurities, discolouration and unwanted odours from aquarium water.

BIOMAX Biological Filtration
Porous BIOMAX media provides a large surface area for beneficial bacteria that support the aquarium nitrogen cycle.

CycleGuard

Fluval's CycleGuard design keeps filtration stages independent, allowing individual media to be serviced or replaced without changing everything at once. This helps preserve established beneficial bacteria during routine filter maintenance.
